About the role
Sigma Software is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Developer to join a long-term, remote project in the healthcare and life sciences domain. You will be part of a distributed European team building a cloud-native platform for scientific computing, AI-powered workflows, and regulatory-compliant data analysis used by pharmaceutical companies and researchers.
Responsibilities
Qualifications:
- Develop and maintain modern full-stack web applications with a strong focus on back-end architecture and scalability
- Design and implement AI-powered features and intelligent workflows
- Build and operate reliable, secure, cloud-native services
- Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, architects, and engineering teams
- Participate in architecture discussions and technical decision-making
- Develop RESTful APIs and service-to-service communication
- Implement microservices and event-driven architecture patterns
- Ensure application reliability, observability, security, and performance
- Contribute to CI/CD processes and engineering best practices
- Promote engineering excellence and AI adoption within development teams
- 5+ years of commercial software development experience
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript
- Hands-on experience with React and Next.js in production environments
- Strong experience with NestJS and scalable API design
- Experience with Go OR strong experience with Python ecosystem technologies (FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, pandas, numpy)
- Solid understanding of microservices architecture and event-driven systems
- Experience with PostgreSQL and ORM tools
