The Makerspace Team Lead supports the educational and maker initiatives of LPCPL as part of the Learning Services Team, focusing on the day-to-day operation of the LPCPL Exchange makerspace.
Responsibilities
Assign and supervise daily work of support staff, volunteers, and interns.
Serve as the first point of contact for customers; assist with in-person requests.
Provide hands-on customer service; help patrons locate materials, access digital resources, and use computers, personal devices, and makerspace equipment.
Use the library website to locate information, resources, and services; assist customers with online tools.
Operate the library's point-of-sale system; handle cash and credit transactions and complete required paperwork.
Plan, conduct, and promote library classes, events, and initiatives in collaboration with staff.
Work with customers and staff to solve problems; overcome design challenges using critical thinking and creativity.
Lead projects as assigned; maintain customer accounts.
Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on makerspace equipment; manage reservations for spaces and equipment.
Set up, clean up, and resupply for classes and events; inventory toolkits and workstations.
Provide services at other library locations as needed.
Perform light cleaning and report maintenance issues; adhere to library policies.
