Senior Software Engineer – Apple Services Engineering (Kubernetes). The ASE Compute team builds and maintains Kubernetes clusters and related infrastructure to power Apple services such as iCloud, iTunes, Siri, and Maps. You will work with world-class engineers to design and extend Kubernetes, with an emphasis on GPUs, and contribute to upstream Kubernetes while aligning with Apple’s requirements. You will help build a scalable platform that delivers applications to users with high availability and performance. Responsibilities include partnering with cross-functional teams to develop features for container orchestration and efficient GPU usage, improving scalability and reliability, evolving architecture to support growth, and collaborating with SRE to triage, investigate, and remediate production issues. Minimum qualifications: 5+ years of experience and a BS in Computer Science or equivalent, strong experience building and scaling core components of Kubernetes or similar orchestration systems, expert Golang skills, and experience operating large-scale distributed systems. Preferred: ability to drive projects from idea to production, excellent verbal and written communication to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and experience enabling GPUs and related networking and scheduling infrastructure on Kubernetes clusters. This is an on-site role in Seattle, Washington, United States.
