Metronet is seeking a Data Engineer – SQL & Analytics to join a small, collaborative engineering team. You will write, review, optimize, and troubleshoot complex SQL queries that power reporting and analytics; design scalable data models and robust data pipelines; and partner with analysts, business leaders, and technical teams to deliver trusted datasets for decision-making. Responsibilities include building dimensional data models, semantic layers, and analytics-ready datasets; developing ETL/ELT pipelines (batch and event-driven); implementing data quality checks and observability; maintaining and optimizing cloud-based and on-prem data infrastructure; leveraging Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Snowflake, and related platforms; and supporting data-driven stakeholders and company-wide projects. Qualifications include a bachelor's in computer science, engineering, or a related field; 3–5 years of data/analytics engineering experience; strong SQL skills; experience with Spark; developing bespoke data pipelines; building production dbt models; data warehousing and data lake concepts; cloud environments (Azure, AWS or similar); and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. The role offers a salary range of $70,000 to $80,000 per year.
