SpaceX is seeking a Reliability Engineer for Starshield satellite systems to investigate, analyze, and track the reliability of hardware within the Starshield satellite constellation. You will collaborate across design, production, and operations engineering to address on-orbit hardware failures, perform root-cause analysis, and develop comprehensive monitoring systems to keep the fleet healthy. Responsibilities - Analyze and track on-orbit hardware failures for the Starshield constellation - Drive root cause investigations for major on-orbit hardware anomalies - Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, thermal, software, test, operations, and production engineers to eliminate failure sources - Build and use tools to analyze data collected on-orbit and in ground tests - Improve the feedback loop from space using effective communication and automation
Basic Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or a related STEM field - 2+ years of professional experience in hardware development, hardware troubleshooting, or data analysis (internships, co-ops, and relevant experiences applicable) - 1+ year of experience with Python or SQL
Preferred Skills and Experience - Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, mechanical engineering, or data science - Demonstrated ability to work in a highly cross-functional role - Strong pro
