Apple's News, Books, and Stocks teams are seeking a high-energy, self-driven Senior Machine Learning Engineer to play a central role in delivering scalable ML services across the News, Books, and Stocks domains. The team works on challenging problems including text extraction, named entity recognition, duplicate detection, search, ranking, and more. You will join a dynamic, distributed group of client and machine learning engineers who uphold Apple’s values and strive for quality, user privacy, and responsible use of machine learning. Minimum Qualifications: - MS in Machine Learning, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience. - At least 2 years of experience shipping machine learning models in products. - Strong programming skills in Python, Java, or other languages, and experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow. - Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with partner teams. - Commitment to fostering an open and inclusive work environment.
Preferred Qualifications: - PhD in Machine Learning, Computer Science, or related field. - At least 5 years of experience shipping machine learning models in products. - Experience with recommender systems and text-centric AI/ML (LLMs, document classification, search). - Experience delivering high-quality software at scale. - Experience designing user-facing ML features with interdisciplinary partners.
