Speechify is a fully distributed company with no office, and we are hiring for the Data side of our AI team. This role is responsible for all aspects of data collection to support model training, enabling the creation of high-quality datasets at petabyte scale with cost-efficient infrastructure, engineering, and research collaboration.

This role is responsible for all aspects of data collection to support model training, enabling the creation of high-quality datasets at petabyte scale with cost-efficient infrastructure, engineering, and research collaboration.
What you’ll do: - Identify new sources of audio data and bring them into our ingestion pipeline. - Operate and extend the cloud infrastructure for our ingestion pipeline, currently on Google Cloud Platform and managed with Terraform. - Collaborate with data scientists to optimize cost, throughput, and data quality to power next-generation models. - Work with the AI team and leadership to define the data roadmap for Speechify’s consumer and enterprise products.
Ideal candidate: - BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or related field. - 5+ years of industry software development experience. - Proficiency with Bash/Python scripting in Linux environments. - Proficiency with Docker and Infrastructure-as-Code concepts; experience with at least one major Cloud Provider (we use GCP). - Experience with web crawlers and large-scale data processing workflows is a plus. - Ability to handle multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities. - Strong written and verbal communication skills.
