Firely is seeking an Interim Finance Manager to own and modernize the finance function for a 6-9 month assignment in Amsterdam, on a hybrid work arrangement. The role combines day-to-day financial operations with building a scalable operating model in preparation for the next growth phase. You will report to the Management Team and work with finance support staff as well as legal, tax and security advisers. Responsibilities include: running daily finance operations; producing management information, budgets and reports for the CEO and Management Team; flagging legal and tax risks to advisers; acting as a sparring partner to the CEO on strategic financial decisions; leading the modernization of the finance function by rethinking processes and implementing scalable tooling; assessing current finance systems and recommending a future-proof setup; shaping the operating model for the next phase of growth; managing relationships with external vendors across the Netherlands and the United States; partnering with People & Culture on payroll, contracts and compliance for Firely B.V. and Firely Inc. USA. Requirements: proven experience as a Finance Manager in freelance or interim capacity; a track record of leading operational transformation in a finance function and introducing new tools and ways of working in a scaling organization; strong knowledge of Dutch tax law and familiarity with US tax considerations; experience operating across NL and US entities; cross-functional collaboration with People & Culture on payroll, contracts and compliance; hands-on experience with accounting
