About the role

Scalr is seeking an SRE Tech Lead to own the Scalr platform’s reliability, scalability, and observability—proactively identifying and eliminating risks before incidents occur and impact customers. You will design new architecture components, promote SRE and DevOps best practices, and drive strategic technical improvements. The primary infrastructure stack includes Google Cloud Platform, GitHub for CI/CD, Terraform/OpenTofu, Datadog, Sentry, and Grafana. This position is remote-friendly with options to work from Lviv, Ukraine (Remote OK).

Responsibilities

Create and maintain the SRE roadmap and backlog from an infrastructure perspective (observability, performance, stability, reliability), prioritizing based on business needs
Own the observability strategy end-to-end (monitoring, alerting, dashboards) and ensure actionable alerts
Architect and evolve platform infrastructure to ensure scalability, technical efficiency, and resilience, including disaster recovery and failover strategies
Define and own customer-centric SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets for application and infrastructure reliability
Manage the infrastructure technology stack, evaluating and integrating new CI/CD and monitoring tools
Cooperate with other Tech Leads and coordinate interaction with other departments
Lead the resolution of technical challenges; mentor the team; stay hands-on in system maintenance
Foster a culture of ownership, autonomy, and continuous growth
Teach, mentor, and ensure employees have the knowledge to work with different system components; initiate mentoring, Q&A sessio
