AM General is seeking a Group Leader, Quality Engineer for the JLTV program in Saint Joseph County, Indiana. This position is office-based and will lead a team of engineers within the Quality Engineering function. Key responsibilities include coaching and guiding the team, providing leadership for Quality Business Plan Deployment, Integrated Product Teams (IPT) and Product Development Teams (PDT), Engineering Change Notice (ECN) reviews, and Production-Trial-Run approvals. The role establishes Product Quality Standards aligned with customer requirements and leads APQP planning and validation for new production programs, including PFMEAs, Special Characteristics, Process Control Plans, Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA), inspection planning, and Process Capability (SPC). The incumbent develops quality plans and continuously improves the effectiveness of production quality control loops, and leads cross-discipline problem solving using methodologies such as 8D and Lean Six Sigma. Additional duties include developing and improving Quality procedures, interfacing with manufacturing, quality, and engineering, managing product quality containment for non-conformances, and leading quality system changes supporting new models and engineering changes. Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology or related field, 5+ years of experience in Automotive/Defense/manufacturing, working knowledge of AIAG core tools (APQP, FMEA, PCP, MSA, SPC), GD&T knowledge, familiarity with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949, and strong communication and problem-solving skills.
