SAIC is seeking a Software Engineer to own full-stack development and the maturation of a government software prototype as it transitions from research/prototype status to a Program of Record for a customer site in North Charleston, South Carolina. The role involves leading backend and frontend development, designing and maintaining APIs using Go and Python, and driving the system to production readiness. Responsibilities include refactoring and hardening prototype code to meet security, scalability, maintainability requirements for fielded DoD/government systems; collaborating with cybersecurity/ISSO personnel to implement RMF-compliant controls and support ATO accreditation; enforcing secure software development practices such as secure coding standards, vulnerability management, container hardening, secrets management, logging/auditing, and secure CI/CD pipelines; and integrating AI-assisted development tools to improve code quality, security posture, and delivery efficiency.
