Nu is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join a small, senior team shaping Nu's core technology powering Nubank's platforms globally. You will design, build, and operate distributed backend services and APIs used by multiple product teams across geographies, own services end-to-end including architecture, implementation, observability, reliability, and continuous improvement, and define contracts and SLOs. Collaborate with data, ML, and infrastructure engineers to turn models and data into robust internal products. Drive 0→1 and modernization initiatives, making pragmatic trade-offs and setting technical standards for high-leverage systems. Required: solid experience as a backend or platform engineer owning production systems end-to-end; experience with distributed systems at scale and building APIs or microservices on modern cloud infrastructure; experience building or supporting platform-level services used by many teams; ability to operate in ambiguous, fast-changing contexts and drive long-term decisions; strong collaboration and communications. Nice to have: experience with data, ML, or AI infrastructure; exposure to regulated domains; background in fast-growing global tech companies; experience mentoring other engineers.
