CoreWeave is the Essential Cloud for AI. This on-site Staff Software Engineer, Storage role is based in New York, United States. You will own the architecture and end-to-end delivery of foundational storage services built from scratch: high-performance file storage, durable block volumes, and the multi-tenant control plane that governs tenancy, provisioning, and data protection at exabyte scale. You will own the data path from the IO layer through the control plane, running on CoreWeave’s hardware fleet. You will design for AI pipelines’ IO patterns, including small-file and metadata-heavy workloads, high IOPS, and sustained throughput to keep GPUs fed. You will ship storage as a first-class Kubernetes citizen with CSI drivers, dynamic provisioning, snapshots, resize, and RWO block volumes backed by public SLOs. You will work with RDMA, GPU Direct Storage, RoCE, InfiniBand, SPDK, and distributed filesystems to raise storage performance and efficiency. You will drive reliability, durability, and observability across the storage stack using telemetry, metrics, and dashboards. You will set the technical bar: lead design reviews, mentor senior engineers, and shape how storage is built across the organization.
