Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the role is responsible for accurate and timely operating and capital accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and maintaining compliant records. The Assistant Controller oversees all accounting procedures, manages monthly and annual close, and acts as the primary liaison with external auditors for the annual audit and for tax and regulatory filings. The position supervises a Senior Accountant, two Staff Accountants, and an Accounting Administrator, and collaborates with club leaders to develop and maintain financial schedules, tools, and controls. Key duties include managing accounts payable and receivable, billing, general ledger, preparing monthly/quarterly/annual financial packages (profit and loss, balance sheet, cash flow), and ensuring GAAP compliance. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance, seven or more years of progressive accounting experience, CPA preferred, hospitality/private club experience preferred, strong leadership and communication skills, and a proven ability to translate financial concepts for non-financial stakeholders.
