Santé is the operating system for local retailers. We are seeking a Senior Applied AI Engineer to design, build, and iterate on production AI agents that power Santé's core merchant experience. This on-site role in New York will develop production-ready agent and context-layer applications that translate each store's sales history, catalog, and market context into actionable decisions that increase merchant revenue. You will own your models from research to production, delivering features that ship to stores in the same week. Key responsibilities include applying state-of-the-art ML and large language model techniques to merchandising intelligence (e.g., slow-mover detection, price and promotion recommendations, competition and seasonality signals), document understanding (invoice OCR and structured extraction across LLM engines), and retrieval and ranking (embedding-based product matching, catalog deduplication, contextual recommendations). You will build agent capabilities on top of Santé's Manager Agent platform, design evaluation harnesses for offline and online testing, and collaborate with engineers, PMs, and store owners to ensure AI drives measurable improvements in merchant revenue and hours saved. You will own the entire model lifecycle—from data analysis and modeling to evaluation, deployment, and continuous improvement—while staying at the forefront of ML/AI innovation by incorporating new techniques into the product lifecycle.
