The Accountant II reports to the plant finance organization and supports the monthly close, forecasting, and cost control in a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
Qualifications:
- Provide monthly forecasting and analysis for material variances, spending, and inventory.
- Support standard cost setting for material, labor, and overhead.
- Review transaction errors to ensure proper impact on perpetual and general ledger records.
- Analyze variances to determine causes and drive continuous process improvements.
- Support new product development.
- Prepare and analyze cost reports; perform monthly close, balance sheet reconciliations, and journal entries.
- Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley and related audits.
- Support annual standard cost processes and daily/quarterly cost movement reviews.
- Lead annual physical inventory and related reconciliations.
- Produce timely, accurate financial reports for plant management to facilitate understanding of the business and opportunities.
- Assist with ad hoc requests/projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA a plus.
- 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Knowledge of GAAP.
- Proficiency with Excel, Access, and PowerPoint; data analytics tools such as Tableau or Dataiku are a plus.
- Manufacturing experience is a plus.
