Overview: Our client, an established construction company, is expanding its accounting team and seeking an Accounts Payable Staff Accountant to stabilize and strengthen operations. The initial focus is heavy Accounts Payable and AP administration beyond basic invoice entry, including accurate job cost coding and vendor documentation management (W-9s, COIs, lien waivers/releases). The role involves end-to-end AP processing from invoice receipt to payment, vendor relations, discrepancy resolution, and account reconciliations related to A/P. Growth: Over time, the role will broaden to include month-end close support, journal entries, general ledger maintenance, construction billing, retainage, and pay applications, with a path to become a trusted right-hand to the accounting leadership. Requirements: Minimum 1 year of construction accounting experience, 2+ years preferred; hands-on, full-cycle AP experience with substantial volume; job-cost coding in a construction environment; strong Excel and accounting judgment; detail-oriented, professional communicator, self-starter; interest in a long-term role with growth.
