About the role

Affirm is reinventing credit to offer consumers flexibility to buy now and pay later without hidden fees or compounding interest. The Collections team, within the Repayments area, is building a robust platform to maximize delinquency recovery by delivering the right message to the right people at the right time, while monitoring system reliability. You will work with product managers, backbook risk teams, and other engineers to manage loans through the delinquency lifecycle and implement effective recovery strategies.

What You'll Do - With support from your tech lead and manager, break down large projects into manageable tasks, deliver in phases, and collaborate to ensure timely delivery. - Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics to articulate constraints, explore ideas, and make decisions with risk and trade-offs in mind. - Support operations and availability of artifacts by creating and monitoring metrics, escalating when needed, and participating in on-call efforts. - Contribute to team culture through growth and development activities, including participation in the interview process.

What We Look For - 2.5+ years of software engineering experience; backend experience; proficiency in Python or Kotlin. - Familiarity with distributed systems and technologies such as AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes. - Ability to design multi-component solutions and deliver well-tested, extensible code. - Comfortable navigating large code bases, debugging others' code, and providing code review feedback. - Proven ownership of personal growth, seeking feedback from team, mana
