Microsoft is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to join the Security of MSRC team within the Cloud & AI organization. The role will help transform MSRC’s vulnerability management ecosystem into a unified, secure, and resilient platform by implementing advanced security controls (including MFA and Zero Trust), strengthening information protection, improving monitoring and incident response, and supporting the consolidation of security case management onto IcM as the secure system of record. You will act as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) and guide other engineers by developing and following the playbook, including on-call duties to monitor for degradation and outages and to restore services as needed. Responsibilities also include optimizing end-to-end inference performance for OpenAI and other state-of-the-art LLMs, reducing complexity of core components, and collaborating with internal and external partners. Qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field with 6+ years of engineering experience in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python; willingness to meet Microsoft security screenings. Preferred qualifications include a Master’s Degree with 12+ years or a Bachelor’s with 15+ years of experience, 4+ years of practical experience with high-performance applications and performance debugging on CPUs/GPUs, and strong software engineering and GPU architecture knowledge. The role is based in Redmond, Washington, United States, with a hybrid work arrangement.
