Responsibilities
A day in the life: As a Senior Avionics Hardware Test Engineer, you will operate at the interface of design engineering and manufacturing, own MRB for your subsystem(s)
- Serve as the primary engineering liaison between production, test, and design teams; triage and resolve hardware testing and manufacturing issues in real time.
- Optimize manufacturing test flows for avionics systems; improve measurement quality, test throughput, and robustness.
- Review and approve manufacturing processes and work instructions for assembly and test of avionics hardware.
- Lead disposition and corrective action for non-conformances during production test.
- Lead MRB activities for PCBA and subsystem-level hardware; work with development engineers to drive RCCA.
- Create and deliver training, troubleshooting guides, and improved work instructions to reduce recurring support burdens.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair test setups for avionics systems in production.
- Partner with test engineering to improve test architecture, reduce cycle time, and ensure high-quality data capture.
- Collaborate with manufacturing engineering to reduce workmanship errors and strengthen process capability.
- Develop and maintain manufacturing KPI reporting tools, including yield trends, test escape analysis, cycle times, nonconformance velocity, and equipment performance.
- Travel to contract manufacturers (<5%) to deploy new test infrastructure and train technicians/operators.
